The Fence by Di Decaire

The Fence

I barely considered it at first
the way the fence must have entered
into your field of consciousness
electric pulses
sniggering
I snigger to think of it now
oh yeah
your particular electric pulse
was a zapping energy machine built on a
not so well assembled totem of despair
plastic and geometric cries for help
so I toppled it
and now all you have is a drive by image of a fence
so crudely constructed from almost
nothing [!]
like valueless stuff nobody else
would ever want to pick up off the ground
it was ridiculous how badly built this fence was
but what I realized [today!] is that
you cannot help but look at it
every time you drive by
and I know that you have to drive by because
you cannot help it or else
you really have to get somewhere by
doing so
